About Us
Our history, in brief.
SimHost is a joint-venture between DeepThink, and James Stallings. DeepThink is active in the development of OpenSim and a proud sponsor of OSgrid.org; since 2007 DeepThink has been developing the OpenSimulator platform, and has a long history in virtual worlds (if you are interested in our Second Life® land, visit AzureIslands.com).
James Stallings has been an active OSgrid admin for approaching two years - and has plenty of experience maintaining and running OpenSimulator servers. He serves as the primary contact for day to day issues and maintainence.
Providing backend assistance, Adam Frisby is a core OpenSimulator developer and one of the founders of the project - if something goes wrong, we have the skills and experience on hand to fix your problems.
Where are you based?
The SimHost venture is a multinational effort - with support provided from Houston, Texas, development assistance from Australia, China, the United States & Canada. DeepThink maintains a full manned office in Shanghai, China, but employs many people across the globe.

Our OpenSimulator work.
We don't just believe in reselling the services you want to use - we actively try and develop the platform. DeepThink has several dedicated developers working to provide open source improvements to the OpenSimulator platform, infact we've got several developers on the OpenSim core development team, and have since the beggining of the project.
Our servers
We maintain a very healthy relationship with our providers, and use hardware optimised for the job. Our standard region offering dedicates a full processor core, and a gigabyte of memory to your region. No virtualisation, no VPSs - we use real solid hardware that has been proven to work.
Our servers are split between two locations - both Dallas and San Diego are home to our servers. We have split these locations in order to provide the best performance for your budget, allowing us to pick and choose hardware ideal for your goals.
